The site presents Fables — story videos from our YouTube channel — and Facts, articles on the culture and history behind them. It is free to use and needs no account. We may add, change or remove content and features at any time.

Videos are played through YouTube's embedded player. By watching them you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's Privacy Policy applies to the player.

Facts are AI-assisted deep dives based on each video, labelled “AI Deep Dive”. They are written to inform and to spark curiosity about African oral traditions and history, but they may contain errors or simplifications, and oral traditions themselves often exist in more than one version. They are not academic, legal or professional advice — please check important details against primary sources. If you spot a mistake, tell us through our YouTube channel and we'll look at it.

• You're welcome to watch, read, and share links to any page for your own personal or classroom use.
• The videos, artwork, articles and site design belong to African Facts & Fables or its licensors. Please don't republish, sell, or redistribute them — including copying Facts wholesale — without our written permission. Short quotations with a link back to the page are fine.
